NEVER COMPROMISE POWER FOR ECONOMY
5.7 LITER HEMI® V8 WITH MDS TECHNOLOGY

Engines

5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine with Multi-Displacement System (MDS), 340 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, and 390 lb-ft of torque, standard on 300C—the most horsepower and torque in its class.** The MDS system allows the engine to operate on four cylinders when power demands are minimal, increasing fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent. This provides the power of a V8 with the economy of a large V6. (EPA estimated mpg: 17 city/ 25 highway)

3.5-liter high-output V6 single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine with 250 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque, standard on 300 Touring and 300 Limited. (EPA estimated mpg: 18 city/ 28 highway)

2.7-liter double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 24-valve multipoint fuel injection (MPI) V6 engine with 190 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 190 lb-ft of torque, standard on the 300. (EPA estimated mpg: 21 city/ 28 highway)

AWD/RWD

It's something you haven't seen on a Chrysler performance sedan in over fifteen years, but this rear-wheel-drive system provides a whole new driving experience. Design and engineering advancements combined with new, world-class technologies offer all the advantages of rear-wheel drive and the confidence of maximum driver control. A near-50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, 120-inch wheelbase and wider track provide greater stability and a more balanced ride Weight transfer to the rear wheels on acceleration provide better balance and traction New short- and long-arm (SLA) front suspension and five-link rear suspension helps keep tire tread in full contact with the road for maximum traction Available features like the Electronic Stability Program** (ESP), antilock brake system (ABS) with brake assist, and all-speed traction control combine to provide greater command of every situation The all-wheel drive (AWD) system available on 300C, Limited, and Touring provides better acceleration, especially when traction is limited. It supplies power to both axles at all times—62 percent of the engine torque to the rear wheels and 38 percent to the front—giving the rear-wheel-drive feel essential for performance sedans. A planetary center differential allows the axles to rotate at different speeds, necessary for cornering.

HANDLING

For the first time in fifteen years you can feel the power and performance of rear-wheel-drive in a Chrysler vehicle. We then applied leading-edge technology to corral the raw power and turn it into a refined ride. Available four-wheel antilock brakes help prevent wheel lockup on slippery surfaces, so you can steer while braking to help avoid a collision. Available all-speed traction control senses drive-wheel slip and individually brakes the slipping wheel and/or reduces excess engine power until control is regained. An available advanced Electronic Stability Program** (ESP) helps drivers maintain control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers and inclement weather. ESP senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes to individual wheels

TRANSMISSION

The electronically controlled five-speed AutoStick® transmission—standard on all 300C, 300 Touring AWD, and 300 Limited AWD models—allows for clutchless manual or automatic gear selection. It's the first use of five-speed automatic transmission on a Chrysler vehicle, providing improved performance and fuel economy. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard on the 300 Touring RWD/AWD, 300 Limited RWD/AWD models, and 300C RWD/AWD. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard on 300 RWD.

SUSPENSION

The 300's suspension has been designed to balance maximum control with a comfortable ride. A short- and long-arm (SLA) front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension system maintain independent control of each wheel during suspension movement for excellent handling. An advanced suspension mounting system also dramatically reduces road noise. This means you get a smooth ride that is also quiet.
